This past week the Junior class took a trip to northern Louisiana and Texas tour colleges! We left bright and early and departed to Louisiana Tech University. When we arrived we went straight to the dining hall to eat an okay breakfast. Afterwards, we began our tour of the campus, where we learned all of the traditions and the history of the college. The tour ended and we got on the bus to head to Shreveport to tour Centenary. The first thing we did when we arrived was eat lunch. After we finished, we started our tour. When the tour was over we headed towards fort worth to check into our hotel. When we got to the hotel we had the option to go out and eat or door dash. Most of the girls’ door dashed and we sat in the lobby to eat our food. When we were done eating we decided to walk to dutch bros to get a sweet treat. After that we made an impulsive decision to run to Walgreens and grab some things and we made it back to the hotel just in time. The next day, we woke up and got ready to go tour TCU. We ate breakfast in the dining hall and it was very good. Les Schouest was our tour guide for half of the tour and he informed us on all of the facts about the beautiful campus. Then, Gavin Stewart finished off the tour and showed us around the rest of the campus. After we finished at TCU we drove to Baylor to eat lunch in the dining hall. The food was pretty good and the tour was very long and informative. While at Baylor, we took part in a challenge course which was very fun. After our long day, we arrived at our hotel in Austin. This hotel was very cute and once we got settled we walked to go get dinner at Chuy’s. Once we got back to our hotel we hung out in the gym and then went to bed. The next morning, we got on the bus to tour UT Austin. This campus was very pretty and the tour was great. After we hung out around campus we started making our way towards our last college, St. Edwards! We ate lunch here and it was very good! Isabel Acevedo was our tour guide and was super informative! After we finished our tour we departed back to Youngsville! A slight detour was made to Buc-ee’s to grab some dinner. We finally made it back in town and headed home. Overall this trip was super fun and I recommend that everyone go on it because it was very helpful and informative.

Hi! I am Maggie Dardar and I have been at Ascension since Pre-K 3! I am currently a junior and I chose to do Journalism because I would love to work on the yearbook and write articles about other students here at Ascension. I am a part of the swim, basketball, and track teams and I also love to hang out with my friends and spend time with my dog, Brew. I am super excited to be a part of this year’s Journalism class!
