Koren Felder has many passions, but her involvement in music and theater is the biggest. She loves to sing, write songs, and she plays the guitar, ukulele, and piano. She loves participating in both school and community theater, and she has been in lots of theater productions with Ascension. Her favorite theater parts have been Mildred in Faith County and Kathryn in Radium Girls, and she was recently Fiona in Shrek with a local community theater called Wonderland Performing Arts. When asked about why she loves theater, Koren said, “I love theater because I think it is amazing to get to be creative and perform with others, and it really is a family.”

After she graduates, Koren plans to either go to law school or major in musical theater. She will begin the college audition process later this year, where she will have to do pre-screens as well as live auditions, consisting of performing two songs and a monologue. After college, her biggest fantasy would be to perform on Broadway, but she would also love to teach theater or work at a community theater. She also wants to travel and participate in a summer abroad program in England to get a sense of theater outside of the United States, this interest being sparked after reading a memoir by Sara Bareilles about the world of theater in London. Koren is very passionate about theater, and she said, “I want to continue to pursue theatre as an undergraduate because I want to further my knowledge in skills to hopefully pursue theatre as a career. Oh, and because I love it of course!”
