Think Pink: Gators Gather for Good Cause

Clad and covered in pink, Gator fans packed the stands Thursday night for the volleyball Game for the Cure against rival ESA.
Although the Gators lost in three games to the Falcons, the evening was a success as a spirit event and as a fundraiser for breast cancer research.
Most fans on either side of the net were dressed in pink T-shirts which were sold for $10. All proceeds, a total of $2,500 went to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Following the game, fans and friends gathered near the baseball field for the Homecoming bonfire. Coach Dardar cooked hot dogs, and parents and teachers served s’mores. Courtesy of Heath Headley’s sound system and Alex Voorhies’s deejaying skills, students basked in the bonfire glow to the sounds of hip hop remixes.
