Audrey Abshire has been attending Ascension since the 8th grade. During her time at Ascension she has been involved in SADD, Gator Jazz, cheer, and NHS. She is now serving as cheer captain her senior year. You can find her every Friday night on the sidelines cheering the Blue Gators to victory! Audrey competed her junior year at nationals for Gator Jazz even though she was not on the team all year. While at nationals they placed top 5 in pom and jazz, and brought home Ascension’s first trophies ever for gator jazz.

Audrey has been dancing for 16 years and all of them have been at Dance Warehouse here in Lafayette. She also danced on Gator Jazz at Ascension her 8th and 9th grade years. Audrey says, “Dance has always been my favorite part of everyday life. I am able to release stress and express myself. I am looking forward to what my future in dance looks like!”

If you know Audrey, you know she is a Disney World fanatic. Audrey has been to Disney World 11 times and could call it her second home. A fun fact about her is one time she went to Disney World for about 24 hours and the same morning she was riding rides, she checked into school.

As Audrey’s senior year is coming to an end she says her advice to underclassmen is, “to cherish every moment of high school, it goes by so fast!”
