Gator Jazz’s Regional Accomplishments

Gator+Jazzs+Regional+Accomplishments

Last weekend, our Gator Jazz dance team competed in the regional competition for Dance Team Union in Zachary, LA. The team competed with two dances and five of the girls competed solos. This was a great way to show off their hard work along with getting practice of what Nationals will be like in February.

The team did two dances, one being a pom routine and the other a jazz. The girls did a great job showcasing these dances and got third place in both. Gator Jazz was featured on the DTU Instagram story with the caption “Varsity Jazz with Ascension Episcopal School.”

Molly Cormier, who is a sophomore at Ascension, placed fourth in the Junior Solo division. She competed in this division against over fifteen other soloists. Naomi Holmes competed against over ten soloists and got second place in the youth solo division. Naomi is also an eighth grader, and this was her first time competing with the Gator Jazz team.

We have received great feedback from regionals to be able to be prepared for nationals. I am so excited and proud of this team for the hard work we have been putting in for this year and know we will do great in February, for Nationals.
