Get ready to deck those halls and trim those trees! Ascension’s very first Christmas lock-in hosted by the Spiritual life group is coming to a gym near you! On Saturday, December 6th our halls will be filled with decorations and carols. Many friendly faces will start arriving at 6:00 sharp!

Our Christmas dinner will be none other than the famous head elf DarDar’s selection of gumbo and jambalaya. Shortly after, friends will gather around a campfire and feast on roasted marshmallows and s’mores.

After eating the Christmas spirit swings into action. Students who attend will have a chance to decorate their very own Christmas cookie. While you eat your freshly decorated cookie you will also be able to make a Christmas card for your family, friends, or that special someone waiting for you under the mistletoe.

Who doesn’t like a classic game of Hide and Seek? Even better, who would miss out on a chance to play Hide and Seek at our very own North Pole we like to call Ascension? Board games and card games will also be available for everyone to have a rocking good time around our Christmas tree.

As the clock ticks closer toward midnight, a special speaker will provide a speech followed by a worship session and reflection. Who would want to miss out on worshiping with your closest friends and Ascension family?

It just wouldn’t be Christmas without gift wrapping. The Spiritual Life team has put together a service project.  I interviewed junior Lauren Franques, and she explained, “We will be wrapping presents for families in need because that’s the true spirit of Christmas!”  As you can see we are very excited and are anxiously awaiting the Christmas lock-in. Senior Ronni High says, “I am excited to do fun activities and spend time with my friends while growing in my walk with God.”

So don’t be a Scrooge! Come to first-ever Christmas lock-in and we promise you will have a holly jolly time!
