As the senior class is going into its last days of school, there is a lot of fun in the idea of graduation, the crawfish boil, skip day, the Color Run, and senior week, but it is also very overwhelming as students are completing their last assignments, starting to study for their exams, and concluding their spring sport seasons. This week is senior week, which means it is the last full week of school for the Class of 2026. The themes of each day are Anything but a Backpack, Throwback, Favorite Teacher, Senior Skip Day, and College Gear where the senior girls can also paint their skirts to represent the college of their choice. This week is always fun for seniors to get their mind off of last minute assignments or tests by almost giving them a homecoming week at the end of the year. Concluding this week with the Color Run also gives seniors another thing to look forward to and look back on as a key memory in their experience at Ascension. Shortly after the Color Run, the senior class celebrates its last day of high school next Wednesday with the crawfish boil. The seniors receive their superlatives and get to enjoy a final meal with all of their classmates. Finally, the biggest event that signifies completion and accomplishment: Graduation! After all of the hard work and dedication into studying to make their way through senior exams, AP exams, and the conclusion of track, tennis, and baseball, the seniors can finally say they have beat high school. There is a lot going on in the next month for the Class of 2026, but it will be really rewarding for the students to walk across the stage, receive their diploma, and move their tassel to the other side of their caps as they move onto the next chapter of their lives.

Amelia Cleveland, Staff Writer
Hi! I’m Amelia Cleveland, and I will be a senior this year. I have been at Ascension since eighth grade and while I’ve been at this school, I have been a part of the soccer team while also running on the track and field team and cross country team. Outside of school, I spend my time hanging out with my friends, babysitting, going to the gym, and doing art, specifically drawing and painting. Being a part of the Creative Writing Club, I can say that I love writing and can’t wait to be part of the journalism team again in my last year at Ascension!
