Favorite Ascension memory: Senior year’s Thanksgiving feast

Future plans: Pursue a career in medicine and become a doctor to be able to go out and travel the world and help aid underprivileged communities!

Afif leads the Ascension community in many different ways as part of the Leadership team, president of the HOSA club, lead tutor and co-founder of the Learning Lab, and a member of all of Ascension’s honor societies. He also enjoys being a member of the Swim Team, Tech Internship, and Theater Program. Afif says his favorite thing about Ascension is the uplifting and intimate community of both students and teachers that surrounds and supports individuals to ultimately succeed! In his free time, Afif enjoys baking, crocheting, listening to music, and singing songs from musicals, even if they are entirely out of his vocal range. He also enjoys dancing and even won dance competitions as a kid living in Dubai. Afif also likes to hang out with his friends and would describe himself as creative, intelligent, and determined. Afif wants to impart to younger students that nothing is too embarrassing if you do it wholeheartedly, so don’t be afraid to fail while trying new and scary things. He says you should “be your true, authentic self because you’d rather have funny, imperfect memories to look back at than regret not putting yourself out there!” Afif is a pillar in the Ascension community, and while we are sad to see him graduate, we are so excited to see what he accomplishes in the future!
