While at Ascension, John Austin has been involved in NHS, NEHS, Beta, Mu Alpha Theta, varsity soccer, adulting club, and the Corn hole club. In his free time, he loves to fish, hunt, play guitar, hang out with his friends, and family. He also loves to travel and explore different places. His favorite thing about Ascension is “How close you are to the people that surround you. It becomes a second home, being able to have strong connections with students and teachers.” If he could define himself in three words, they would be courageous, caring, and outgoing. A fun fact about John Austin is that he is the tallest in his family. If he could give advice to younger students, it would be “Do your work. Get involved. Soak up every second you can because you don’t know what you have till it’s gone.” He adds, “A wise man once told me that if you take things for granted, nothing will ever be wonderful. Cherish every moment because there is no tomorrow.”
