Amelia is a very active member of the Ascension community who has made her mark in many different facets of the school. She is a member of the Cross Country and Track teams and a leader on the girls’ Soccer team. She also participated in the Creative Writing and Board Games Club and used to be the proud owner of five pet baby turtles that her dad found in their pond while she was in elementary school. Some of her favorite hobbies include running, drawing, painting, working out, listening to music, and, of course, hanging out with her friends. Amelia can be described as ambitious, organized, and hard-working, and enjoys the close-knit community Ascension has to offer. She loves how Ascension’s community makes students comfortable going to teachers for help and even for light-hearted conversation. Even amidst the business and stress of applying to colleges, Amelia is cherishing her senior year and is glad to have finished her applications as early as possible because, in her opinion, acceptance letters are great to receive early. She advises younger students to work similarly, saying, “The best thing you can do is challenge yourself and set far-reaching goals. If you work hard in high school early on, you will be able to relax in your later years and be grateful when you accomplish all of these goals.”
