Name: Ava Cope
Grade started: Pre-K 4
Favorite teacher: Mr. Shome
Favorite Ascension memory: Senior Sunrise
Future plans: She is undecided on a college, but plans to major in kinesiology.
Ava has been a member of Gator Jazz and the competition team since her 8th-grade year, and she is currently the team captain. She has been an Ascension Ambassador for two years, and this year, she is the yearbook co-editor-in-chief. She is also in POW and HOSA, and a member of Beta, NEHS, NHS, Mu Alpha Beta, SNHS, and Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society.
In her free time, she enjoys shopping, whether in person or online, getting coffee with her friends, and spending time with them as well. She also likes to read, sleep in, and dance. When asked what her favorite thing about Ascension is, she said, “How small the community is and how you can stay here your entire life while getting the opportunity to be involved in numerous things, and actually enjoy going to school!”
If she could define herself in three words, they would be bright, joyful, and diligent. A fun fact about her is that she is 4’9 (she’s legally a little person). To younger students, she says: “Don’t be scared to meet new people, try new things, and put yourself out there because that is what’s going to give you the best experience.” Her final words are “Woo Hoo!!”
