At the end of August, Gator Jazz took on their annual kid camp with a Carnival theme! In order to accomplish the team’s goal, we prepped and prepared for two weeks. After that, the night before the camp, we got together and helped decorate the SMP gym. Our parents had collected multiple games and activities for the kids to play. The games consisted of corn hole, Twister, ring toss, egg relay, an Oreo game, and a photo booth. That was not all–we even had coloring, face paint, bracelet making, and picture frame stations, too! Our moms even arranged a merchandise table and sold clothes and accessories for the kids.
During the four-hour-long camp, the kids, ages ranging from pre-k 4 to 4th grade, learned two dances, one that would be performed on September 8th on the football field, and one that was for fun. The kids left saying that they had so much fun and could not wait for the game!
Two weeks after the camp, the kids and the Gator Jazz team got together and performed the dance they all worked so hard on. The kids dressed in Blue Gator gear and danced at halftime even though it was raining! Gator Jazz had so much fun with the littles and can’t wait to do it again for basketball season!
