Emma Godwin has been a student at Ascension since Pre-K 4. While at Ascension, she has been a part of the soccer and basketball teams. Emma played basketball from 8th grade to 10th grade. She has played on the varsity soccer team since 7th grade and led the team this year in assists as well as leading the team as a captain. She has received many awards while playing high school soccer such as First Team All District, both junior and senior years, Second Team All District in 8th grade, and 2nd team All-Metro for her junior year. Emma has been very involved as she has participated in Power of Women Club, Connaisseur Des Cuisines Club, Cupcakes for Causes, and Younglife. Emma is also a member of the National English Honor Society, National History Honor Society, and she has been a part of the leadership team since freshman year. In her free time, Emma enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also really loves working out and trying different workout classes like pilates, cycle bar, and crossfit. A fun fact about Emma is that she plays club soccer for the Houston Dash club out of Houston, and travels from Louisiana to Texas for practice and games (even on school nights). She has also placed in district rallies for Spanish I, II, and III. Lastly, Emma’s advice to the underclassmen is, “Don’t take your time at Ascension for granted, because it goes by so fast! Try and take part in every school event because they will create so many memories!”
