Faculty Spotlight: Mrs. Courtney Robert

Mrs. Robert is a core member of Ascension student life. She teaches English, and she is our teacher for the Leadership class here on the Sugar Mill Pond campus. She makes learning exciting, and she is fun to be around. Mrs. Robert is kind, wise, and caring, and she’s a role model for us all. She makes everyone feel welcome and accepted. Here is an interview of her Pokémon career.

 

How did you get into Pokémon Go?

I used to be obsessed with Pokémon Snap and when she found out she could play a Pokémon game on her phone, I flipped.

What is your dream Pokémon to catch?

My dream Pokémon to catch is a Shiny 3 or 4 Star Beldum.

How many Pokémons do you have?

736 and counting.

What is your favorite part about Pokémon?

Catching shinies and community days.

How long have you been playing Pokémon Go?

Since 2016.

What level are you on for Pokémon Go?

42.

What is your favorite Pokémon?

Shiny Rayquaza.

Where do you see yourself in the next ten years in regards to your Pokémon Go career?

I would like to be a legendary world wide renowned trainer.

Do you ever want to start a YouTube channel playing Pokémon Go?

I do, but I’m not that good.

On average how long do you play Pokémon Go a day?

I play one hour a day (Authored Ascension suspects that she plays longer).

Do you feel that Pokémon Go allows you to have a deeper bond with your students and allows you to understand them more?

I don’t play for my students, but it allows me to bond with them more.

What does your family think about you playing Pokémon Go? Are they supportive?

My kids play so they understand, but my husband gets irritated by it.

Why do you like the game? What is enticing to you about it?

I like to see where Pokémon spawn at different places, and I like to go to different gyms and Pokéstops.

If there was no Pokémon Go, what other game would you play?

I’m a huge fan of EverMerge.

Would you ever consider getting merchandise for Pokémon Go? If so, which ones?

I have a Pokémon shirt, and other avatar clothing.

How much money have you spent on the app?

I plead the 5th. 

Would you consider playing other Pokémon games?

If I ever get a Nintendo Switch, I would play Pokémon Snap again.

Do you think that Pokémon Go should be an elective at school?

No, but I would like to have a Pokémon Go club.

Do you believe that video games are beneficial to society or destroying our youth?

Stop bothering me. I need to play right now.
