Tis the season for all things Christmas: presents, lights, decorations, Christmas trees, and of course Younglife! On December 4, 2018, students from 9-12th grade gathered at junior Hannah Gaspard’s house to ring in the holiday season. What better way to celebrate than by singing famous Christmas songs and playing fun Christmas games?

The night started off with singing traditional Christmas songs like “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” For the first game of the night, the entire group was divided into two teams, and were given a minute to list as many Christmas songs as they knew. Once the time was up, the groups went back and forth singing the songs they listed, without repeating a song or hesitating, until there was a winner. Next, junior Mia Dardar and sophomore Wyatt Fox were decorated as Christmas trees, and stood in the corner for most of the night, embodying true Christmas spirit. What is Christmas without Santa and his reindeer? For the last game, sophomore Jack Aldridge and junior Isabelle Beaullieu became real life Santas with cotton ball beards and eyebrows (held together thanks to trusty Vaseline). They were pulled on their “sleighs” (aka a bed sheet) thanks to their trusty reindeer, aka sophomores Will Kerstetter and Amelia Morgan; the reindeers helped them race to put presents under our beautiful “Christmas trees.” Fun and games aside, the night was ended with a message from none other than Chelsie Guidry.

I spoke to the hostess with the mostest, junior Hannah Gaspard, about what it was like having club at her house, and she said, “It was so cool! We played lots of games and sang lots of Christmas songs. I had a lot of fun and I would definitely have it at my house again!” I also spoke to freshman Elise Cope, who had never been to Younglife before! When asked about how her first club experience was, she said, “It was fun!! I loved the atmosphere and how involved everyone was!” Follow Ascension’s Younglife on Instagram, @ascensionyounglife, and stay updated for more club dates!
