In school, Sam participates in every school play and musical that he can. Sam also sings and plays at school concerts, and is a member of the Creative Writing and Beyond Board Clubs. Outside of school, Sam likes to play video games, go to the gym, plan and play D&D, go for bike rides, and hang out with family and friends. Even though he does not do it often, he also loves to build LEGO sets while watching a movie or podcast. Sam describes himself as self-motivated, eager, and planning. Sam’s favorite thing about Ascension is the amazing student body. Specifically, he cannot even count the amount of times that he has had a wonderful interaction with someone in the hallway he has not met. A fun fact about Sam is that his family owns six cats. He has known his cats since they were young, and he loves being around them. Sam’s advice to younger students is, “DON’T LET YOUR GRADES DEFINE YOU!!! School is challenging and rigorous because it’s designed to be that way! Sometimes you’ll fail but that’s okay because it’ll happen again and again and again in your life. Find a balance between commitment to your grades and to the things that make you happy.” Sam’s closing words for this Senior Spotlight are, “Have a great Blue Gator Day! Or the Gator will get you…”
