Shelby Godwin, one of Ascension’s Alpha Omegas, is excited for her final year at Ascension. She describes herself as patient, loving, and thoughtful, and has contributed so much to our school in her time here. Shelby uses her artistic talents to enrich life at Ascension all the time as part of the Creative Writing and Blue Gator Creators clubs, as well as helping build and manage sets for the Theater Department’s shows. Shelby also loves drawing and hopes to use this passion for design in a future career in marketing. Music is also a huge part of Shelby’s life; she loves listening to music, playing guitar, collecting vinyls, and attending concerts. She has been to seven concerts in the past few years for some of her favorite artists. Shelby says her favorite thing about Ascension is probably the amount of opportunities students have for service, getting involved, and having fun is so easy at Ascension! She enjoys events like the Chili Cookoff or Art Fest hosted by the school. Finally, Shelby advises younger students to stay focused and try to do as much as they can in high school.
