Camyrn has been at Ascension since her Freshman year and has been involved ever since. She is a member of the Varsity volleyball team, President of the National Honor Society, Publicity class leader, NEHS secretary, BETA Club, Social Studies Academic Honors Society, Science Honors Society, Alpha Theta Math Society, Ascension Ambassador, Pro-Life club President, Younglife member, and an active member of the Ascension theater department. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, attending LSU football games, and performing in local theater productions through CYT.
“My favorite thing about Ascension is the community and how everyone at our school gets along. I love how anyone can walk up to anyone and have a conversation about anything! I love the environment of our school and how we make everyone feel welcome, no matter what!” she says. She also describes herself as outgoing, bubbly, and brave, and says one fun fact is that she has never drunk soda before!
Some advice she would give to the younger students is, “not to be afraid to try new things because you never know what you are missing if you never try!” She also added one of her favorite Bible verses to share with everyone. It reads, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made,” Psalm 139:14. She said, “This verse reminds me that I am a unique masterpiece created with intention and love by God, which allows me to make it through the hard times in life.” This is something she lives by and encourages others to do the same.
