Starting their practices this past week, the Ascension Blue Gators girls’ soccer team are getting ready for their 2024-2025 season. The team consists of three seniors, four juniors, one sophomore, five freshmen, and three eighth graders, resulting in a total of sixteen players, and this is a decent number for this year, with half of the team being underclassmen who will only become better. Most of the upperclassmen already have experience playing on the team, so they provide a positive leadership. The team will participate in seventeen games total, playing their first game on December 4, and then in a tournament later in the season, and even though the beginning of the season overlaps with the preparation for Ascension’s play The Game’s Afoot, this does not stop the girls who are participating in the show from showing up to practice whenever they can. Whether experienced or not, all of the girls try their best to play well as an individual, as well as a teammate. They are excited to represent the Blue Gators with sportsmanship and integrity during the upcoming season.
